Sponsorship Considerations

I asked a manager in a large corporation why her company supported the arts when it seemed obvious none of her colleagues appreciated the arts. Most of the walls were bare, and the few paintings were mediocre copies of other mediocre paintings.

"Why does a company that hates the arts give money to the arts?" she asked, rephrasing my question. "I don't know. Why do men who hate women give money to prostitutes?"
