The Waterford Arms menu features fish and chips dinners in three sizes: "small, medium, and large." In practice, this translates to "bigger than the plate, bigger than your head, and bigger than your thigh." I believe William Somerset Maugham's experience at the Waterford Arms was the source of one of his most famous observations: "I have not been afraid of excess: excess on occasion is exhilarating. It prevents moderation from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit."
I have yet to have my first revelation at The Waterford Arms, but I'm not bothered: the fish and chips are excellent.
